One of Australia’s toughest hill climbing events the Fitz’s Challenge, returns on Sunday 28 October 2018.
Online registrations open on 1 June.
It is also a requirement of the event’s approval that participant’s helmets are checked for an Australian Standard sticker prior to registration packs being provided. This is not a Pedal Power ACT policy, however it must be conducted to comply with regulations. Participants need to ensure the helmet they are using has an Australian Standard sticker, and be prepared to present it when collecting rider packs before the event.
Personal insurance for participants in Fitz’s Challenge isn’t compulsory. However, if you are planning on participating in Fitz’s Challenge and you do not have legal liability or personal accident insurance, it could be worth signing up for a Pedal Power ACT membership.
One of the benefits of membership with Pedal Power ACT is our members insurance. Pedal Power members are covered by personal accident insurance and public liability insurance 24/7 worldwide for all bike riding activities. A heavily discounted 12 month membership is being offered to participants in Fitz’s Challenge or alternatively a day membership is available for those who would like to ensure they are covered on the day of the event.
The opportunity to add one of these as an option when registering for Fitz’s Challenge will be provided to you. The special cost for a day membership and a 12-month membership for participants is:
- Pedal Power ACT Day Membership: $12.00 with registration
- Pedal Power ACT 12 Month Membership: $64.00* with registration (usually $80.00)
If you choose to add on a Pedal Power ACT 12 Month Membership during your registration, you will be able to access Pedal Power ACT member rates for your chosen Fitz’s Challenge distance.
* Discounted 12-month membership must be purchased at the time of registering for Fitz’s Challenge 2017 and is available to new members of Pedal Power ACT only. This membership does not include a subscription to the Canberra Cyclist magazine.
Due to the popularity of Fitz’s Challenge, a number of venues are prepared to offer Fitz’s Challenge participants special rates for the event. Discount codes for the 2017 event are available via accommodation.
